Skin care industry growing fast

It seems almost impossible to be able to admit, but the government recently released economic news that was positive (?!?!?), and spread smiles throughout the beauty field.

It seems that America's future is looking good... literally. A recent study from the U.S Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts a 20% increase in the field of beauty jobs, which is a much faster increase than the other occupations that were studied. This is especially exciting since other fields are still suffering from downturns, and despite tighter financial situations-- people are clearly still spending on treatments and services that make them look, and feel, better.

In the past, hair-styling was always the most popular field to go into in the beauty industry. However, because of the amazing technological advances being made, skin care is currently the fastest-growing field of study, with no slow-down in sight. According to Jim Cox, the executive director of the American Association of Cosmetology Schools, these careers are especially appealing because of the flexible working hours, and job security. The field of beauty offers incredible job stability, as these jobs can never be outsourced. People will not be going to India or China to get a Fraxel laser treatment, or a haircut. This is a hands-on field, and the more hands... the merrier!
