Today, I moisturized my hair with a mixture of warm oils (sesame, tea tree, olive, Castor and coconut oil). After applying the oil to my scalp and the ends, I took small portions of my hair and two strand twisted them.
I did this because I wanted to lock the moisture in my hair.
I gave multiple views of the hairstyle. What do you think? How do you lock moisture in your hair?
I wore a yellow skirt, navy bow belt, striped top and flower necklace to complete my hairstyle.

Bow and patterns
Today, I was going to the doctor and wanted a hairstyle that would make me look cheerful. I decided that I would wear my pink belt with the large bow as a headband.
I wanted an updo because I knew I would be wearing a scarf and wanted my hair lint free. I opted for the following hairstyle.
I started by making a part at one side of my hair. Then placed the headband on my head. After that, I took a portion from the front and made a bang. I then took hair from the opposite side folded them over and held in place with hair pins.
I did this all the way around. This hairstyle was quite easy and quick.
I removed the bow and added a flower to the headband. I was a little indecisive as to whether I should keep the bow or wear the flower.
In the end I decided to wear the bow. I completed my hairstyle by wearing a long cardigan, scarf worn as a belt, a pair of orange tights and a pair of multicolored earring

Itchy and scratchy: Oolala my scalp!!!!!
Winter, winter, winter. It doesn’t matter how I wear my hair—loose or loc’d, my scalp become dry due to the cold weather as well as heating because both affect the amount of moisture in your hair and scalp. I needed a solution so, I made a scalp treatment from natural oils. I mixed 5 essential oil (tea tree oil, rosemary oil, virgin coconut oil, Castor oil and olive oil) and applied them to my scalp.
Recipe
The recipe depends on the condition of your scalp.2 tablespoon virgin coconut oil (main)
1 teaspoon rosemary oil (main)
1 tablespoon tea tree oil (main)
1 tablespoon Castor oil
1 tablespoon olive oil
NB: you don't need to use all the oils you can use one of the main oils and another or 2 main and another. You can mix them however you want just make sure that one of the main oil is in the mix.
Instructions
Mix the oils in a container and massage them into your scalp before bed. I also applied a warm towel to my hair for some moisture. I removed the towel and then applied a little virgin coconut oil to my ends and put on my silk head wrap. This will help to keep in the moisture in your hair. My scalp is now itch free. Yea me!!!!!!!!!!!
Natural oil that are good for the scalp
Virgin Coconut oil: has antibacterial, anti-fungal, and antiparasitic properties that can help with many scalp problems such as itchy scalp, dry scalp and dandruff. It can also aid in length retention because it strengthens hair strands and helps to keep them from breaking. Virgin Coconut oil is a great oil to use to soften your hair and condition your scalp.
Jojoba: Is excellent as a scalp moisturizer and helps to rebalance sebum.
Tea Tree: Great for oily hair. Treatment for dry scalp, dandruff, lice, and under active sebaceous glands, enlivens the scalp and brings the cells & follicles to attention.
Peppermint: Great for dry hair. Excellent for dry scalp and promotes hair growth
Lavender: Great for normal hair. Scalp treatment for itchiness, dandruff, and even lice.
Rosemary: Great for oily hair. A dandruff treatment which also promotes hair growth.
Myrrh: Suitable for dry hair. Treatment for dry scalp, dandruff, lice, and under active sebaceous glands
There are many other oils that are great for the scalp. Feel free to experiment with other oils.
If you have a recipe please feel free to share it.

Help!!!! My hair Oh so dry!!!!!!
As I said in my post yesterday, winter is my least favorite season. I try to think of good points about winter and the only things that come to mind is the long holidays, Christmas and spending time with my family. Winter is just a long season that is very cold and dry.
Black hair that’s already dry enough to begin with can take a serious beating during the winter. It’s important to treat our hair like the delicate flower that it is. Here’s three quick ways to do just that…
1. Beware of wool and other moisture-snatching fabrics. All the things that keep us warm like wool coats and heavy scarves can rub against our hair and cause it to break. The fix? You can protect the hair with a silk or satin scarf that lines the inside of a wool hat or acts as a barrier when used as a layering piece with your wool coat or scarf. It’s also important to use a silk or satin scarf and/or pillowcase to protect your hair at night.
2. Limit your usage of heat. We know excessive heat can wreck havoc on our tresses so continue to limit or even avoid using it especially during the colder months. For natural hair and locks, is best to try “setting” the hair in braids or twists.
3. Moisture and seal. Moisture is important to our hair year-round but it’s essentially important during the winter. Alternate between a deep conditioning treatment like one from your kitchen (see my post on Deep conditioner love:Hair treatment from the Kitchen on December 17th ) or Moroccanoil Intense Hydrating Mask . How often you alternate will depend on the condition of your hair (if it feels hard and brittle when wet, deep condition; if it feels gummy when wet, protein). Every six weeks or so try a deeper protein treatment like a homemade mix.
In addition to your conditioners, it’s imperative to use a good daily moisturizer and then seal with a natural oil (unrefined coconut oil and Castor is my fave). To do simply divide the hair into workable sections and work in your moisturizer paying special attention to the ends. Then take a pea sized amount or how much ever of your oil that you need and work it into the hair. Careful not to use too much oil to avoid overly oily strands.
Below are few products that you may also use to help restore or maintain moisture during the cold months.

Winter Protective hairstyle
Winter is my least favorite season for many reasons. Recently, I have to be protecting my skin and hair from getting too dry. Today, I created this hair style to protect my hair from the harsh weather. With this hairstyle, I can wear my berets and add other hair accessories to make my hair look fabulous.
The air is very dry and tend to suck the moisture from my hair as well. To keep the moisture in, I braided my hair to the back and made a bang at the front to add a little spark.
What do you do to protect your hair in the winter?
I also added a headband that I made from old tees and felt. Don't worry divas, soon I will be having a tutorial on how to make these gorgeous hair accessories.
I completed my hairstyle by wearing a tube made from an old tee, Harlem pants and a pair of yellow disc earring.

Inspirational Photo of the Day
I like this hairstyle especially the back. I may try it out but I think I will change the front portion to add my own flair to the hairstyle. What do you think?

Cut a Long Story Short
Don't be startled, I did not cut my hair. Today, I wore my hair in a low bun and all the fuzz from my scarf was in my hair. As a result of this, I have decided to wear my hair in coils tomorrow.
All I did for this hairstyle was to put my hair in coils. You can also use bantu knots. When the hairstyle was finished, I added a flower that I bought in H & M (100 yen or $1).
I was in the beach mood which is quite rare seeing that I am not a fan of the beach. So, to complete my look, I wore a long skirt as a dress, a sports bra as a bathing suit top, beetle broach/hair accessory, sunglasses and drop earring.
Above is the complete look. What do you think?
